Meet the Team: Randy Byars

CDFL Architects + Engineers, P.A. is growing, and we couldn’t be more excited about the new talent on board!

CDFL Architects + Engineers, P.A., is pleased to announce the addition of a key executive to their team, Randy Byars, to serve in Development and Execution, working in the Alabama office.

Byars joins the Jackson-based firm and brings over 32 years of experience in athletic facilities maintenance management with a specific concentration over the last fourteen years in construction planning and project management. He brings an extensive understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and architectural design to the CDFL team.

For 25 years, Byars worked at Auburn University as a Director in the Athletic Facilities, Athletics Department. He oversaw all athletic construction and renovation projects. He provided project leadership from conception to completion. During his time at Auburn, he executed over 200 million dollars worth of projects administered from academic classrooms to athletic practice and playing facilities. A highlight in Byars’s career is when he brought in the basketball AU Arena project on time and with a savings of $6.5 million from the original $92 million dollar budget.

From CDFL’s Alabama office, Byars will continue to develop and maintain professional partnerships to increase visibility and growth. Byars advances our vision to create innovation, profitability, and value for CDFL and our clients. We’re thrilled to bring his leadership on board to cultivate and optimize the fabric of our firm.

Randy earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife of thirty-six years and his two daughters, both in college. He admits to being an insatiable reader and poor golfer.
