Clarion-Ledger

Jackson, MS October 2007—What do these acronyms have in common? They all refer to the most comprehensive restructuring of the United States military since 1942. Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), Global Defense Posture Realignment (GDPR) and Army Modular Force (AMF) all refer to a shift in the structure of the American Armed Forces. Bases are being reconfigured and personnel, some from overseas, are being relocated. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers estimates $12 billion and $13 billion of “essential construction” in 2008 and 2009, respectively.

The Jackson firm of Cooke Douglass Farr Lemons, Ltd.
