Canton, MS
The Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems is a high-tech research facility providing an educational bridge between Mississippi State University and the automotive industry. Situated atop a hill overlooking a new Nissan factory, the modernist forms, clean white metal panels, rigid modular grid, and machine-like detailing allude to the high-tech computer systems and automotive engineering research inside. The facility provides offices for permanent faculty, students, vendors and researchers, and has full teleconferencing abilities in all of its classrooms and conference rooms. The two-tiered conference room on the second floor seats 100 and has a 150-degree panoramic view to the Nissan facility. The first floor labs provide an ideal environment for full-size assembly line mockups, vehicular experiments, and collision forensics.
