Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL
As part of the Base Realignment and Closure Program, NAS Pensacola was rejuvenated to accept a new 4,200-man training center. Included in the center is this award-winning 55,000-square foot galley, sited to be the focal point of the new campus, visually and functionally.
Multiple dining areas enjoy an abundance of natural light, while service and dishwashing functions are confined to the four solid corner towers. The interior architecture is designed to allow service of 5,500 personnel within 120 minutes, or three sittings. The entire project totals over 1 million square feet, and includes a central plant, recreation facility and barracks facilities to accommodate 4,350 soldiers.
